Transportation

Every shipper wants to maximize their transportation budget and ensure their goods are picked up and safely delivered when and where needed. Providing us with the size and weight of your shipment as well as pickup, delivery and other details, will help us respond quickly and deliver the best possible customer service and value as well as verify the type of Full Truck Load (FTL), Partial Truck Load (LTL), straight truck or van needed to load, unload and transport your freight safely.

Additional information that helps us provide you an accurate quote includes:
• Is an appointment needed?
• Is a loading dock available?
• Does our Driving/Dispatch Team need to contact a location prior to pickup/delivery?
• Is the freight we will be transporting “High-Value?”

Note: The weight and dimensions of a shipment combine to determine its density. This is used to calculate the correct freight classification for Less Than Truckload (LTL) freight, which will impact your shipping costs.
For shipments within the United States, the National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA) provides the National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC). Goods are categorized based on density, handling, and liability. The freight class, along with size and weight, is used by us to determine how much it will cost to ship your freight. You can learn more about NMFC freight identification and classification here.

Warehousing

The cost to warehouse your items will depend on several factors. These include: Space Required, Inbound and Outbound volume, Required Equipment, and Required Labor.

Once we get your initial request, we’ll reach out to gather the additional information we need to create your optimized, flexible warehousing solution.

At minimum, we’ll want to know:
• What is the city where you need warehouse space?
• What warehouse services are required (short-term storage, long-term storage, distribution, drayage, transload / cross-docking, transportation, etc.
• A description of your product(s)/commodity(s), with as much detail as possible.
• How the product/commodity is packaged, i.e. cases, bags, crates, pallets, etc.
• Length of storage required.
• Average number of pallets per inbound shipment
• Piece count
• Weight per piece, if applicable
• Inbound and outbound volume

If possible, knowing any or all the following details will help us better tailor a custom solution, designed to deliver maximum flexibility and value:

• Photos of the freight
• Average height in inches of your pallets
• Average weight in pounds of your pallets
• Number of different items (SKUs) per delivery
• How shipments will be transported to the warehouse (trailer, container, box truck, van, etc.)
• Whether the product will be floor loaded or on pallets upon arrival
• How much space will be required at any given time?
• Average stack height allowable for your pallets
• Humidity or temperature control requirements, if any
• Additional/special service(s) required, if any
